Delhi based Zakir Khan is an artist looked up to by hair stylists across the world for his knowledge of hair, creative cuts, usage of tools and color techniques. He started his professional journey as an interior planner and a visual merchandiser for retail stores and corporate houses. Though he was doing extremely well in the creative industry, Zakir Khan wanted to push further, thus taking the plunge into hairdressing. He learnt the basics from Javed Habib Academy in 2003, and after working there for a couple of years, went on to work with Aalim Hakim Salon in Mumbai.
Zakir Khan, being associated with many reputed salons at their initial stage to have a hold in the market, developed a sensibility and rigour that would set him apart from his peers. His work has been featured in numerous magazines and newspapers including Delhi Times, India Today, Bridal Asia, Salon International, Cosmopolitan and Beauty Launchpad. He has also been a part of popular television show Band Baja Bride for two seasons.
In his 15+ years of industry experience, Zakir Khan has styled a host of VIP’s and eminent personalities including Irfan Khan, Mahie Gill, Mahima Choudhary, Vijender Singh, Ashish Nehra, Varun Sharma, Prit Kamani, Ishant Sharma and Ajay Jajeda.
What keeps Zakir going for new heights is his confidence to conjure up a new look everyday for any of his clients. It was then that he decided that the only way to do his kind of hairdressing was to start his own academy and build a team from scratch. Realizing that the kind of hairdressers he wanted to work with simply did not exist, and would thus need to be created, Zakir set up a full fledged academy in August 2017, with an infrastructure now available to train new hairdressers and re-train existing ones, he was able to generate new talent consistently.
At Crème Salon By Zakir Khan, he develops talent in-house – every single hairdresser is trained or fully retrained in the system of hairdressing. Every hairdresser works within the same system, and speaks the same technical language, our stylists are able to help, guide and mentor each other on an ongoing basis.
